Last updated: 13 May 2026 by Enchant Entertainment
A graduation ceremony is recognition of years of work. Every student name needs to be heard.
Whether it is Year 6 students moving on from primary school or Year 12 receiving their final school credentials, a graduation ceremony marks a transition that families travel from across the state to witness. The procession, the speeches, the moment each student crosses the stage. The AV is what makes those moments land for the audience in the back row as clearly as the front.
Enchant Entertainment is a Perth family run business delivering AV for school graduation ceremonies since 2018. Our team arrives during the day for a full rehearsal, locks in the processional and recessional music, sets up the slideshow projection and stage lighting, then runs the full ceremony with two operators on the day.
Based in Kwinana, we cover schools across the Perth metro area. Our $5,000 complete package covers a 2 hour graduation plus the day rehearsal that catches every timing issue before guests arrive. Whether the ceremony is in your PAC, a hired function venue or the school gym, the rig scales to suit.
Graduation has a different feel to other school events. There is no performance to applaud, no music to dance to, just recognition. The AV job is to support the dignity of the moment. Names announced clearly. Music that sets the tone for entry and exit. Lighting that makes every student visible as they cross the stage. Slideshow that runs without a hitch. Two operators handle every cue so nothing slips while families are focused on the students.
Running a valedictory too? Many Perth schools run a separate Year 12 farewell ceremony during the same week as graduation. See our school valedictory AV hire page for that ceremony format.

Every kind of school graduation covered
From Year 6 primary leavers to Year 12 final ceremonies, we tailor the rig to your format and cohort size.
Year 6 Graduation
Primary school leavers ceremony. Often the first formal milestone a family attends. We bring the PA, mics and slideshow for the welcome, principal address, certificate presentation and recessional.
Year 12 Graduation
Senior school graduation, often part of valedictory week. Higher production value, multiple guest speakers, full slideshow retrospective and award presentation for dux, captains and academic recognitions.
Cap and Gown
Formal cap and gown ceremony with conferral of credentials. Stage lighting designed to look right on the photos and video each student receives. Processional and recessional music timed to the line.
Reception Venue
Off site function centre, hotel ballroom or community hall. Common for smaller schools or combined cohort ceremonies. We coordinate with the venue’s events team and rig around their existing setup.
Marquee or Outdoor
Marquee on the school oval or outdoor courtyard ceremony. Battery powered PA and silent generator hire available for venues without easy mains power. Weather contingency rigging quoted on top.
Combined Ceremony

Professional gear for every student’s moment
The right rig for a ceremony families remember for years.
PA System
Powered speakers sized to your venue. Designed for clear speech intelligibility so every name announced in the certificate presentation carries to the back row of the gym, PAC or function space.
Wireless Microphones
Professional wireless mics for the principal, MC, guest speaker, school captain or dux, and the staff member reading award citations. Lectern, handheld and lapel options available.
Slideshow Projection
High lumen projector and projection screen. Cohort retrospective slideshow displays clearly even in a partially lit venue. Individual student photos sync to certificate announcements.
Processional Music
High quality music playback for the processional, recessional and underscore. Our operator times every music cue to the moment, including fade outs when speakers approach the lectern.
Stage Lighting
Stage wash and front spots focused on the stage so every student is well lit as they cross. Warm tones for speeches, cooler tones for slideshow, scene presets for clean transitions.
Digital Mixer
Digital mixing console with scene recall. The day rehearsal mix is saved and recalled for the ceremony, so the sound is consistent without any last minute adjustments while the procession is starting.
Why two operators matters for graduations
A graduation looks calm from the audience perspective, but technically there is a lot happening at once. The principal finishes a sentence and the next slide must appear. A student’s name is read and their photo must be on screen at that moment. Music fades out as the next speaker approaches the lectern. The recessional music timing has to match the moment the first student stands.
With one operator splitting attention between sound, lighting and slideshow advance, transitions slip. A name gets read while the wrong photo is on screen. A microphone gets opened a beat late. The audience may not name what feels off, but they feel it.
With two operators, one focuses on sound and music while the other runs lighting and slideshow. Both attended the day rehearsal so they know every name, every cue, every pause. The result is a ceremony that feels dignified, where every student gets their moment, and where the technical work is completely invisible to the families in the audience.

We know graduations
Graduations are quietly important. Our team treats every one with the care families travel to witness.
Graduation Experience
Our team has delivered AV for school graduation ceremonies across Perth since 2018. Primary and secondary, large and small, single cohort and combined ceremony. We have seen the formats and we know what works.
Name Pronunciation
Reading hundreds of student names live without missing one is a skill. We work with your staff reader during the day rehearsal to flag tricky names, run pronunciation checks and lock the pace.
Clean Transitions
Scene presets on the mixer and lighting desk mean every transition is preprogrammed. No fumbling between speech, slideshow and presentation segments. No mic opened a moment too late.
Kwinana Based
Family owned and Kwinana based since 2018. Fast access to all southern suburbs, Rockingham, Fremantle and the CBD. More availability through the busy late Term 4 graduation season.
One Point of Contact
From first enquiry through to ceremony day, you deal with the same person. Easy to reach when the school graduation coordinator needs answers fast.
Backup Gear On Site
A microphone failure during the principal’s address is the worst case scenario. We carry spare wireless mics, cables and a backup mixer to every graduation ceremony.

Graduation AV terms explained
Common terms you will hear when planning a school graduation ceremony, explained simply.
Processional
The formal entry of graduating students into the venue, usually to music. The first ceremonial moment of the ceremony. Sets the tone and signals to the audience that the formal program is starting.
Recessional
The formal departure of the graduating cohort at the end of the ceremony, also to music. The closing moment of the program. Our operator times the recessional music to start exactly as the first student stands.
Conferral
The formal awarding of credentials, certificates or recognition. The central act of the ceremony. Each student is named, photographed and receives their document. Timing and clear sound are essential.
Citation
The brief description read aloud for each award recipient, often noting their year level, achievement or area of excellence. Citations are usually read by a staff member at a lectern, supported by a fixed mic.
Dux
The top academic performer in the graduating year level. The dux is often invited to give a brief address during the ceremony. Reliable wireless mic and clear PA are essential for this speech.
Cohort retrospective
The slideshow shown during the ceremony covering the graduating year level’s journey through the school. Usually timed to music and run by our AV operator so photos appear in sync with the soundtrack.
Scene recall
A feature on digital mixers that saves the sound settings dialled in during the day rehearsal and recalls them exactly for the ceremony. The night sound matches what was set up hours earlier.
Bump in
The setup phase before a show, when equipment is brought in, rigged and tested. For graduations, bump in usually happens in the morning or early afternoon ahead of the day rehearsal. Bump out is the reverse.
