Professional sound, stage lighting and radio microphones for Perth school musicals and drama productions. Multi-night hire with a dedicated operator who knows your show.
Your cast has rehearsed for months. The AV should be ready on night one.
School musicals are the most technically complex events a school runs. Radio mics on moving cast members, stage lighting that cues to the script, foldback so performers can hear the music — it all needs to work together seamlessly across multiple nights.
Enchant Entertainment has been supporting Perth school productions since 2018. We bring the gear, set it up properly and run it. Your drama teacher focuses on the performance. We focus on the technical.

Based in Kwinana, we service schools across Perth and the southern suburbs. We do site visits for medium and full productions so there are no surprises on show night.
School musicals typically run for two to four nights across a week. The difference between a production that sounds and looks professional comes down to three things: the quality of the microphone management, the clarity of the foldback and the programming of the lighting cues. We focus on all three from the moment we bump in.

We bump in before your tech rehearsal so the cast can rehearse with real microphones and lighting. This is where we learn your show.
Our operator runs sound and lighting for every show night. Same person, same setup, consistent results from opening to closing night.
From a single-night drama showcase to a full week-long musical with a live pit band, we have the right setup.
Full sound and lighting rig for musicals with cast, band or backing track. Headset microphones for lead cast, stage wash, moving head lights and foldback for performers. Our operator manages the mix from front-of-house for every show night.
Sound effects, ambient audio and headset microphones for principals. Stage lighting is cued to your script scene by scene. We work from your lighting plot and can advise on cue points if you do not have one prepared yet.
High-quality music playback, moving head lighting effects and clear PA for dance showcases and performing arts evenings. Multiple inputs for USB, laptop and DJ controller. Fast setup between acts for multi-item programs.

Multi-act format with quick scene changes. We set up for flexibility — fast input switching, lighting scene presets and a smooth run between acts.
Reduced-rate hire for tech rehearsals and dress rehearsals. Getting cast used to mics before opening night makes a measurable difference to the show.

We use the same equipment trusted by professional touring productions. Not entry-level hire gear.
Powered main speakers sized to your venue, from small drama spaces to full school auditoriums. Clear, even coverage across every seat.
Professional wireless headset mics for lead cast. Hands-free for dancers and leads who move across the full stage during performance.
Digital mixing console with scene recall. Every show night starts from a known, tested position so the mix is consistent from opening to closing.
Stage monitor wedges facing performers so cast and band can hear each other clearly. Essential for staying in time with backing tracks and live musicians.
Dynamic moving head lights with colour mixing for scene changes, chases and dramatic moments. Programmed to your script cue by cue before opening night.
Front-of-house wash covering the full performance area plus spotlights for lead performers during solos and key dramatic moments in the show.
The single biggest factor in a school musical sounding professional is microphone management. Too many mics open at once creates a muddy mix. Our operator manages which mics are live at each moment, pulling down mics when performers are offstage and bringing them up cleanly before they speak.
Lighting tells the audience where to look. A well-placed moving head and two front spots can transform a PAC or gym into a genuine theatre experience. We program your lighting cues before tech rehearsal so the cast sees the full effect from day one.
Foldback is often overlooked. When performers cannot hear the music clearly, they lose time, go flat and lose confidence. Good foldback is the difference between a cast that performs with certainty and one that is constantly checking.

Common terms you will hear when planning a school musical, explained simply.
A wireless microphone worn on the head with the mic element positioned near the cheek. Leaves hands free for choreography and acting. Standard for lead cast in musicals.
Any wireless microphone that transmits via radio frequency to a receiver. Includes both handheld wireless and headset mics. The “radio” refers to the transmission method.
A speaker on stage facing the performers so they can hear themselves and the music clearly. Essential for keeping cast in time with backing tracks or live bands.
Direct injection box. Converts the signal from electronic instruments like keyboards, bass guitar and acoustic pickups so they can plug into a sound mixer cleanly.
The PA system and mix position facing the audience. The operator sits at “front of house” and controls the overall sound the audience hears throughout the show.
The setup phase before a show, when equipment is brought in, rigged and tested. Bump out is the reverse, packing everything down after the final performance.
A programmable stage light that can pan, tilt and change colour during the show. Used for chases, scene transitions and to highlight specific performers during key moments.
A rehearsal focused on running the technical elements (sound, lighting, scene changes) with the cast. Usually held shortly before opening night so problems can be fixed before the audience arrives.
